A Christmas Carol

This timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, Belle, Fezziwig, The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, Yet to Come, and of course Tiny Tim is a heartwarming staple in many a Holiday Home.
Did you realize the phrase “Merry Christmas” was made popular by A Christmas Carol? That the word "Scrooge" and the exclamation "Bah! Humbug!" were entered into the English language as a result of the popularity of this classic?
In fact this book is almost single handedly responsible for the current state of observance of Christmas Day. For in the 17th-century the Puritans pretty much put the kibosh on the idea on having too much fun on Christmas.

I remember the first time I ever saw A Christmas Carol. I could not have been more than 4 years old. It was a cartoon musical starring Mr. Magoo and to this day the family prayer, sung around the scant dinner table still brings tears to my eyes.

A Christmas Carol as a one man show? How could it miss? At first I considered performing it as Dickens did over 150 years ago.   But to do that would move the emphasis from Christmas to the life and work of Dickens himself  and I wanted everyone’s undivided attention on this story of redemption.

I have often told people that I my desire as a performer is to simply Touch, Move and Inspire and what better way than to take them on the journey of a Christmas Carol?
So sit back and relax and over the course of the next 75 minutes, without the use of props or costumes, playing all 36 characters, I will perform for you this timeless and beloved classic and we will all together take this journey of love, forgiveness and redemption.
